Not sure about all the "this could only happen in California" bullshit, though Dshack might disagree.
Anyway, using Facebook, Audi is posting videos of their design process, information about the contest as it progresses, and soliciting questions and feedback to find out what the fans would like to see in a car of the future. Interesting.
Danny Choo working hard to give the BBC an insightful, accurate impression of Japan. Danny appears dressed as the stormtrooper. Full article here. Seriously, where does this guy get off?
Some clever types at the RCA, have come up with a rather cool way of creating music, using electric ink to create a human synthesiser called the Humanthesizer. Columbia Records artist, Calvin Harris, has taken the tool and created a version of his latest single, Ready For The Weekend, using the humanthesiser, powered by Calvin, a singer, aaaaand....15 bikini clad girls. So for purely scientific reasons, I decided to check the video out....
The electric ink is called Bare Conductive. It's a non-toxic, conductive ink that is applied directly to the skin allowing the creation of custom electricity, allowing users to interact with electronics through gesture and movement.
The video shows Calvin explaining the concept, plus the girls applying the electric paint.....anyway, yeah, he then performs a short burst of the track which comes out pretty well.
It was uploaded to YouTube on Monday (11th Aug) and has already hit almost 150k views.
Hot shit out of Australia - X and Hell. From the nation that brought you Cut Copy and Midnight Juggernauts. New album out called Million Dollar Sex Party. I love this stuff. Sheer party music that doesn't pretend to be anything else.
it's a funny old world. Apple makes hay out of beating up on Microsoft for being stiff and crap and rubbish. yet they do it in the most tired, burnt out method available - TVCs.
below is the greatest piece of 'branded content' ever made. It was for Microsoft UK, and was intended for internal training.
the fact that Microsoft, 2003, was open to such self-effacing, playful and truly irreverent communication is pretty mind-blowing.
This is truly brilliant and makes all Apple marketing look dull, humourless and crass.
Enjoy!
